In her first book of poetry, Dear Poet, Entirety J Roberts reaches out and speaks to the parts of us that we don’t let others see. Each prayer calls out to the heart, delving into love and passion, darkness, hope. Ms Roberts gives readers a glimpse of herself with heartfelt poetry and poignant prose. One of my favorite pieces, Release Me, resonates with fragile hearts. To Lie, another favorite, manages to convey so much emotion in a few lines, touching on the desire for illusion over truth. But, it is with Unmoved that Ms Roberts reaches out to me most. She illustrates what so many feel when putting words to paper: hesitation, fear, uncertainty.
But, I am certainly glad she chose to share hers.
