watch her glow like the moon.

glimmering gold and lavender love

pretty pulses of healing,

starlight infused into screaming veins,

hope shimmering across the universe of a soul

whose only ever known how pain bleeds,

peace radiating through the home

of bones too familiar with agony

there is a goddess within her,

a warrior finally waking

from an eternity of aching

she sheds the shadows of the past

and walks into the wonder of the present

(watch her become the sun)

– ashley jane

my wolves.

i run with wolves,
warriors with softly resilient hearts
i hold hands with heroes,
my hesitant fingers bound in theirs
because they give me the strength
to rise above the fire
to run among the pines
to break glass ceilings
they teach me how to be patient
they show me how to be
brave

– ashley jane

my heart will outlast your hurricane.

i was gone

long before you noticed,

drifting beyond

your lonely lighthouse shine

i refused

to be another casualty

of your raging storms,

your lightning strikes

creating seaglass memories,

proof that there is still strength

in these bones

– ashley jane

i am under her spell.

i watched her

waking from hibernation,

neither ghost nor girl

but hovering somewhere in between,

a born wildflower drifting

so i taught her

to dance in rays of sunlight,

to run beneath the rain

and now,

she is anointed with energy,

illuminated from within

she goes up in flames

and emerges with wings

she becomes the magic

that keeps me wild

– ashley jane

we’ll all revel in the blaze

i watched her rise
from the ashes you left her in
dressed in golden stars,
adornments plucked from the heavens
she wears them like war paint,
a firewalker fueled by the power
of a thousand suns,
a heat aching to ignite
i call her phoenix
and one day,
she’ll burn your world down

– ashley jane

she sees your truth.

she belongs with the wolves of winter,

a pack of restless souls bound in spirit,

their gypsy hearts beating in sync

with the rise and fall of a mystic moon

they are truth and purity housed behind

a stubborn love and piercing eyes

they are the wildflower warriors,

all brilliant beauty

with the power to see beneath

all the masks you wear

– ashley jane

she’ll devour you whole.

she runs with wolves

in wildflower gardens,

dresses up your pretty petals

in her favorite shades of black

(she’s addicted to the way the night bends)

she has no use for shallow souls

who play masquerade to hide their poisoned roots

she is power and strength,

blossom and bone,

a lioness in eden with magic in her eyes

and war on her tongue

– ashley jane

you are worthy.

I watch you bend
until you’re almost broken,
your mind divided
and your world stripped bare
(you deserve more)
you keep your eyes turned down,
those brilliant depths of blue
now hidden behind a wall of aches
(you deserve more)
you walk around dripping hearts
and bleeding love
and it’s so damn tragic
because your soul was meant
for something other
than this beautiful death
(you. deserve. more.)

Love, Lies, and Lullabies is a collection of poetry about relationships and the emotions that come with them. It is written for the lovers and the liars, the broken and the mended, the hardened hearts and the soft souls who lie and tell everyone that they are fine. Each chapter is filled with poems that detail the ups and downs of life and love, of pain and joy, of losing and finding yourself again.

Please check it out, review it, let me know what you think.
